When people think of movies and filmmaking, they often think of big budget Hollywood films that are beautiful to look at but maybe lack original ideas or independent films that are trying to make social statements. Further, we often keep film in the box of "entertainment" or "art", without recognizing intersectionality with other areas of life. How can filmmaking be a type of ministry? And is the only hope for films that really challenge us emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually in the documentary and independent space?
