EPISODES DROPPING MARCH 11TH!

Hello everyone and welcome to a Matter of Faith: A Presby Podcast! This will be the podcast where we respond to your questions and comments on issues of faith, social justice and church life.

We are very excited to be starting this journey with you and announcing this podcast!

We have been working hard to get this podcast off the ground and it’s great to see it starting to take flight! One of the reasons we are excited about the podcast is it’s a collaboration between two offices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). A Matter of Faith features hosts, Simon Doong, from the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program, and Lee Catoe from Unbound: The Interactive Journal on Christian Social Justice.  We forward to bringing not only our own perspective, but the perspective and resources of the PCUSA denominational offices to the conversation each week.

The most important part is that it’s not really about us, it’s about you all, our listeners.  There have been some podcasts aimed at addressing issues of faith and the church in the past, but what we’re hoping to do is provide a place for people of faith, Presbyterians like you, to ask questions on issues of faith, social justice, and church life and then get some thoughtful responses and discussion by both of us or by a guest who we bring in with more relevant expertise.  Our goal is not to give “a perfect answer”.  but to give voice to these questions.  If you are asking it, some else probably is too.  In addition, we’ll provide thoughtful responses for us all to ponder.

The way this works is you can submit your questions at [email protected] and then we’ll spend each episode responding to one or two of them. We’ll also bring a guest on who has relevant experience to answer an additional question.  These guests can be a colleague on the PC(USA) staff or a partner of the Church.

We’ll also have a resource roundup segment where we mention relevant PC(USA) policies or resources that you might not be aware of and might find helpful to navigate these big questions. All policies and resources that we mention will also be linked in the show notes and description for each episode.

So that’s the overview of the show.  Again we are super excited to be doing this, and we invite you to join us for a Matter of Faith: A Presby Podcast!  The podcast where we respond to your questions and comments on issues of faith, social justice and church life.  Don’t be afraid to write in and ask your question at [email protected].   Because if it matters to you, it matters to us, and it just might be…. a matter of faith.  Whether it be faith in God, faith in others, or faith in yourself.  We are brought to you by the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program and Unbound, The Interactive Journal on Christian Social Justice for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).  We look forward to seeing you in Episode 1!
